Trying Out Silicone Hair Rollers
Last night I decided to give silicone rollers a try. While I was putting them in, Justin couldn’t stop making funny comments about how I looked. At one point, he laughed and said, “You look like an octopus right now.” I love him for his sense of humor—he always knows how to make me laugh, even when I’m in full experimental beauty mode.
Anyway, it took me a little while to get the hang of it. Once all the rollers were in, I wrapped a soft t-shirt over my head and twisted it up like I would with a towel after a shower. It actually worked perfectly to keep everything in place.
I started with slightly damp hair—not soaking, just enough to hold a curl. I dried the roots with my head flipped upside down (hello, volume!) and then gave it a cool blast to set. Instead of rolling from the ends up like most tutorials suggest, I did my usual curling trick: held the roller at the root and wrapped the hair around it like a ribbon. That gave me more lift at the top and softer waves on the bottom—love.
Sleeping in them was surprisingly comfy. The rollers are soft and squishy, so they didn’t dig into my scalp or bother me through the night.
And the best part? When I took them out this morning, the curls were soft, bouncy, and full of volume. I skipped hairspray because I actually prefer when they fall a bit—it gives that relaxed, effortless look, like I just woke up fabulous (with a little help).
Final thoughts? These silicone rollers are definitely going into my vintage-inspired beauty routine. They’re easy, gentle on my hair, and budget-friendly. Perfect for soft curls without the heat damage.

More photos coming...
Love,
Anastasia
